Mercedes provide a guided tour of "Fantasy Island"

Mercedes has offered fans an insight into the inner workings of the garage with a tour of the centre console or "fantasy island".

Chief engineer trackside Simon Cole explains the finer workings of the 'island' that, on the occasion of both success and failure, has taken a beating from team principal Toto Wolff.

“When things aren’t going so well, he has been known to lash out at the desk and batter it a few times but we have got a new desk this year and we’re optimistic that it will make it to Christmas!” joked Cole.

The island also plays home to the race engineers of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, Pete Bonnington and Riccardo Musconi.

Although the two are "within striking distance" of Wolff, Cole confirmed the team has had "no reports of assault yet".
