Max Verstappen has crashed into the turn-12 wall en route to the grid for the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Verstappen qualified seventh at the Hungaroring but had been unhappy with the balance of the Red Bull across the weekend.

In damp, greasy conditions Verstappen was hustling the RB16 to the grid, being greedy with the kerbs before locking the left-front, and sliding into the turn-12 barriers.

Red Bull are now racing to change at least one suspension component with less than 20-minutes until lights out for the start of the race.

Pulling away from the barrier, Verstappen pulled the front wing off the Red Bull with the suspension visibly damaged.

On his lap to the grid, Verstappen's Red Bull team-mate reported over team radio: "[The] Car's not easy to drive at all."

Should Verstappen fail to start the race, it would be a second zero score for the Dutchman from the first three races of the year.
