Charles Leclerc will miss the chance to do battle with George Russell for the unofficial Formula 1 Virtual Grand Prix title after committing to the virtual Le Mans 24 Hours.

George Russell enters the season-ending Canadian Grand Prix with a 22-point lead over Leclerc, but the Ferrari driver, alongside other championship regulars Antonio Giovinazzi and Lando Norris, will not be contesting the final race.

Instead, all three drivers will be racing at Le Mans. Leclerc and Giovinazzi will be competing in the GT class for Ferrari, while Norris will be partnering with Max Verstappen at Team Redline in the top LMP category.

While his F1 rivals focus elsewhere, Russell will again be joined in the Williams garage by Nicholas Latifi.

Valtteri Bottas, after making his only other appearance at the virtual Monaco Grand Prix, returns for Mercedes.

Alex Albon will race with Red Bull, while Pierre Gasly makes his second appearance for AlphaTauri.

Sunday's broadcast will commence at 6pm BST with a Pro Exhibition race featuring the official F1 teams’ professional esports gamers taking place one hour earlier.
