Williams tease the FW43 as a February 17 launch date is announced.

Having endured a difficult preseason and launch period in 2019 followed by an even tougher campaign with just a single point scored. While the reliability displayed in the FW42 was among the best of any car in the grid, the aerodynamic problems subsequent lack of speed saw Robert Kubica and George Russell prop up the order more often than not.

For 2020, Russell remains and is partnered at Williams by Canadian Nicholas Latifi. Losing a large number of their Polish sponsors after deciding not to keep Kubica in a race seat, Williams have benefited from a number of Canadian sponsors that have followed Latifi throughout his junior career.

It is not widely expected that Williams will be challenging the front runners in 2020 but a performance increase to bring them closer to the midfield would be a strong result. Instead, Williams will likely be targeting 2021 with the new regulations as their time to return forwards, much as they did in 2014 with the introduction of the turbo-hybrid era.

The FW43 will be launched online at 8am GMT on February 17.
