Leclerc on Vettel relationship: Brazil was a good lesson for both of us

Charles Leclerc is hoping the he and Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel can work better together in 2020 and avoid any uncomfortable moments - the Brazilian Grand Prix coming together an especially low point for the Scuderia in 2019.

After answering carefully selected fan questions at the Autosport International motor show in the U.K., Leclerc sat down with Motorsport.com where he briefly opened up about the tensions within the Ferrari camp last year.

"We are extremely competitive and sometimes on track, we might have some frictions," said Leclerc.

"But in the end, we are mature enough to know that what happened on track is on track and off it we are different.

"The most important thing is we work together well off track to develop the car in the best way possible and of course not exceed the limits when we are on track like we have seen in Brazil.

"But I think it was a good lesson for both of us and it won't happen again."

Leclerc outpaced Vettel in 2019 and many are predicting that there will be a similar outcome this time around. With Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto keen to announce a 2021 driver lineup by the Spanish Grand Prix in May, it wouldn't be to much of a stretch to imagine tensions fraying even quicker in 2020.
