Michael Schumacher's records for race wins (91) and world championship titles (7) were previously thought untouchable, but now Lewis Hamilton is within reach of both.
Hamilton has already left the German great's pole position record for dust and will go into next season with Schumacher's two most prestigious benchmarks in mind.
In wrapping up title number six in 2019, Hamilton has won 10 races so far, taking his tally to 83.
While that one seems certain to fall if the Brit hangs around in F1 for a couple of years, the title record may be tougher to take, if Ferrari and Red Bull, or anyone else after the 2021 regulation change, gets their act together.
Can Hamilton really surpass Schumacher's totemic tally? Have your say in the poll below and let us know your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter!
