Mattia Binotto says Ferrari are going all out for victory at the Mexican Grand Prix, despite their fading title hopes finally being extinguished in Japan last time out.

Sebastian Vettel took the Scuderia's fifth consecutive pole position in Suzuka, but a sluggish start from both the German and team-mate Charles Leclerc opened the door for Valtteri Bottas to sneak the race win away for Mercedes.

The result, with Lewis Hamilton coming home in third with the fastest lap bonus point, secured Mercedes' sixth consecutive constructors' championship, as well as eliminating all drivers bar the Silver Arrows' duo from the race for individual honours.

Ferrari have not won at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez since its return to the calendar and can only count two wins in Mexico in the 20-race history of the event, but Binotto has only one thing on his mind this week.

"After two races in which we could have done better, we arrive in Mexico determined to win," Binotto said.

"We will be aiming for our sixth consecutive pole, before looking to convert that into a victory.

"The Mexican track has plenty of elements that can catch you out, some of these linked to the fact we are racing at over 2000 metres above sea level. That makes fine tuning the settings on both the chassis and power unit side particularly complex, as the requirements are very specific to this track.

"The circuit features a variety of corner types as well as long straights on which, year after year, the record relating to top speeds has been beaten. The necessary compromise between having good top speed and sufficient downforce in the corners dictates the aero settings with which we will take to the track."
