Vettel given Ferrari team orders to let Leclerc through

Ferrari's controversial team orders returned at the Belgian Grand Prix as Sebastian Vettel was ordered aside to let Charles Leclerc take the lead at Spa-Francorchamps.

Leclerc had led from pole position for most of the race, however Ferrari initially looked to have hamstrung the Monegasque when Vettel pitted early and was left in the lead when Leclerc and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas also took their service.

But Leclerc was told that the race would come to him later on, and it only actually took six laps for the 21-year-old to close onto his team-mate as he goes in search of a maiden race win.

Vettel was duly ordered aside at the final corner to let Leclerc resume P1, a reversal of roles from earlier in the year, when the four-time world champion was regularly favoured at his team-mate's expense.
