Sirotkin secures McLaren deal

Sergey Sirotkin has signed a deal with McLaren to become their reserve driver, while maintaining a similar role with the team's engine supplier Renault. Sirotkin will be available to McLaren in times of need, while continuing to help Renault's development.

Sirotkin raced in F1 last year with Williams, but finished bottom of the drivers' championship with a solitary point to his name.

McLaren appointed Brazilian driver Sergio Sette Camara as their test and development driver, but he does not hold a Super Licence.

Fernando Alonso was set to combine an ambassadorial role with some F1 duties this year, and tested in Barcelona earlier this year.
