Although Formula 1 refused to acknowledge them officially as 'grid girls', models were indeed present ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix at the weekend. Their removal from F1 weekends was down to Liberty Media looking to "reflect societal changes", but not everyone was happy with the decision.

However, Monaco wouldn't be Monaco without a dash of glamour and race officials had long insisted that grid girls would be present in some capacity.

Race sponsor Tag Heuer sent models - male and female - to the grid pre-race to display messages of support to each driver, as well as share images of the packed pre-race rabble to social media.
